MEET YOUR HOSTS
Grant Thomas
Grant survived growing up in Nebraska to accomplish every Midwest kid’s dream - moving away after paying in-state tuition for college. After a year in California, he landed in Denver in the summer of 2016. He is a public school teacher, and has grown accustomed to a semi-willing audience.
Recently (and proudly) 30, Grant lives on Denver’s westside. Famously pet averse and fortunately single, he parents several plants. He hikes, hosts dinner parties, and once met Dave Franco. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Education in 2015. 6 feet tall if it matters…
Maia Warner
Maia is originally from the suburbs of Denver, CO and will take any and every opportunity to remind everyone that she is a rare “Colorado Born and Raised” 🙄. Having ADHD and a love of having approximate knowledge of many things as led her into many serendipitous adventures - starting this podcast being one of them. If you’ve ever gone down an internet search rabbit hole, you’ll love the stories she shares.
Outside of the podcast (because once you have a podcast it becomes your whole personality, right?) she lives with her fiancé, Casey, and two dogs, Monet and Bowser. She has a BS in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and works as a Project Engineer for an Engineering Consulting firm (don't ask her what she does for work - she still doesn't know how to define "consultant").
A woman who needs no introduction, but if she did she'd shout it! It's LIZA! With a Z! Born into stardom, the daughter of Judy Garland and Vicente Minnelli, Liza was born for greatness. From "Liza... in Cabaret!" to "Liza... in Chicago" to "Liza in... LIZA! LIZA!". Few know how difficult the life of the talented and famous can be better than Liza. Despite triumph and tragedy, Liza Outlives it all.

Frank Sinatra would say, "I did it my way," and we would agree. From an early age, he lived an unusual life, raised in a mob bar by a strong-willed mother, gifted with a voice that could melt hearts and a face that could charm anyone. But there’s a side to Sinatra that few people know. A member of the Rat Pack, famous for his many wives and girlfriends, and… a civil rights activist? His friendships stretched from Hollywood’s elite to the most dangerous figures in organized crime and even to the White House. But when his ties to the mob clashed with his loyalty to John F. Kennedy, did Sinatra’s influence take a deadly turn? This week, you’ll get a peek behind the velvet curtain, but trust us, there’s more to Sinatra’s story than any “Somethin’ Stupid” could cover. "Wild monkeys escape" might feel like a concerning headline. But if you're one inventive business owner outside of New York City, it might be the best thing to ever happen. This week, Maia covers the story of untamed monkeys who seek greener pastures on the other side of their enclosure. But once they're out, we have to ask "how do you catch a monkey?" This week, the story of Frank "Bring 'Em Back Alive" Buck and the Long Island Monkey Escape of 1935!!
When a routine zoo cleaning goes wrong, 175 monkeys decide to explore Long Island—and nothing will stop them. In 1935, famed animal collector Frank Buck’s “Monkey Mountain” became ground zero for one of the wildest jailbreaks you’ve never heard of: train-blocking primates, frantic zookeepers, fruit-stand raids, and a mischievous monkey ringleader called “Al Capone.” This mass escape hijacked headlines far beyond New York, fueling the frenzy around exotic pets and raising questions about how prepared anyone was to corral these curious creatures. Join us for a hilarious and unbelievable tale of animal adventure, where truth is definitely stranger than fiction—and where even a quiet suburb can suddenly become a jungle. 00:00:00 Catch-Up 00:26:39 Alpha Genesis Research Lab 00:40:50 Frank Buck 00:51:26 Presidential Pets 01:05:21 Back to Buck 01:20:40 The Escape & Chaos 01:49:58 Publicity & Final Thoughts
